Superintendent Thoele
|
Mrs. Thoele hails from Teutopolis, Illinois, a town in the east-central part of the state. She received a bachelor’s degree in Math Education from Eastern Illinois University, where she also acquired a master’s degree in math education. Mrs. Thoele later earned her administration and Superintendent's degrees from her alma mater as well. Previous to New Harmony, Mrs. Thoele was the Superintendent of Teutopolis High School in her home town. She lives with her husband, Jerry, and has four daughters. She also said of New Harmony School that is has great students, hard working staff, and exists within a friendly community; that it is an exemplary place for education. She is currently in her 36th year within the education profession. She too carries high expectations and seeks to make sure that students get the best education possible before leaving high school. In the future, Mrs. Thoele hopes for a greater course selection, a higher availability of long distance learning to students, and the emergence of more dual-credit courses to prepare students for post-high school education. She enjoys seeing dedicated and diligent students who not only have good academic performance, but who also participate in a variety of extra-curricular activities.
