This is the group in the arch of
Stone Sculpture which is a replica
of the Harmonist Church door
which was incorporated into the
north elevation of the 1914 New
Harmony School building.  This
sculpture represents the past and
the future of New Harmony

This is our President, Casey,
standing in the arch.
Present:New Harmony

In 2003, New Harmony was named by the National Trust for
Historic Preservation as one of it's, "Dozen Distinctive Destinations,"
proving that the town has maintained it's historic value. The town's
population is approximately 960 people, each with their own special
connection to the New Harmony. The beauty of the town and the
way community feels about it is indescribable. The school is also a
centerpiece in the town. Every community member is involved in
school activities just as every student is involved in the community.
Sporting events are not simply for students and their parents, but are
events for all of New Harmony. The small size of the school gives
the students many opportunities that they would not have at a large
school.
Present: Ribeyre Gymnasium

Currently, the Ribeyre Gymnasium is used mostly by New Harmony
School and the town of New Harmony. It is often used for sports
practices, school events, antique shows, and other community
activities.   Although the gym is able to be used occasionally, it is
beginning to deteriorate and showing signs of age. The ownership of
the gymnasium has been transferred from New Harmony School to
the Ribeyre Gymnasium Restoration Group. At this time, the gym is
in a usable state, however, many parts of the gym need to be
repaired or replaced. There are signs of water damage shown
throughout the roof and the entire electrical system needs to be
replaced.
Present: Ribeyre Gymnasium Restoration Group

Currently the Ribeyre Gymnasium Restoration Group has obtained
$75,000 from various grants and fundraisers. This year the group
has been awarded the Community Focus Fund of $500,000 from the
Indiana Department of Rural Affairs and traveled to Indianapolis to
receive the money from Lt. Governor Becky Skillman. In addition to
generating funds, the group has developed architectural renderings
for the proposed design of the gym. The group has begun to work
on parts of the gym that can be repaired. The basement has been
completely cleaned out and the bleachers, deemed unusable,   have
been removed. Construction on a central office, which will help the
group run more efficiently, has begun
