Academic competitions provide students with challenges. Students can
participate in the local spelling bee, National Geographic Society Geography
Bee, Young Authors Conference book writing, Math-o-thon, and Academic Bowl
Competition. Older students enjoy music competitions, Mock Trial, and
participation on Envirothon teams.
Extracurricular activities include many clubs and after school programs. One
such opportunity is a new grant program called "Girls On The Move" for girls in
grades 4, 5, and 6. Six programs targeting the total well being of girls will
feature guest speakers on nutrition, exercise, women in business and
science/math careers, arts/crafts and friendship and trust in monthly
after-school sessions.
